Camelina BIO oil comes from an oleaginous species called Camelina Sativa.
Cultivated in the South West according to organic farming methods, this plant is also called “German sesame” or “bastard flax”.
The seeds at the origin of our Camelina Organic Virgin Oil, have been grown in combination with lentils, which has a similar growth cycle.
Both species are harvested simultaneously around September, then sorted :
- The seeds of Cameline are small in size, 0.8 to 0.9 cm.
- Their golden yellow color gives a particularly golden oil, very rich in omega 3 (30 to 40%), omega 6 (120 to 30%) and vitamin E (55 to 80%).
